COMPUTER COURSES AND DESCRIPTIONS

 

 

PC Hardware 3 lessons Saturdays 12:30 – 2:00 PM June 7, 14, 21

Lesson 1 – PC function, disassembly

Lesson 2 – assembly, troubleshooting and upgrade

Lesson 3 – installation of operating system.

Students must bring own tools: static wristbands, interchangeable screwdriver (Phillips head) Registration $100

 

MS Office Track AM (8 Weeks)

Tuesdays & Thursdays 10:00 AM – noon May 27 to July 17

Computer file management, MS WORD, spreadsheets and graphing with MS EXCEL, and an intro to OUTLOOK and POWERPOINT, 8 weeks. Prerequisite:   PC Beginners or placement test. Registration $150

 

MS Office Track PM (8 Weeks)

Tuesdays & Thursdays 6:00 TO 8:00 PM May 27 to July 17

Computer file management, MS WORD, spreadsheets and graphing with MS EXCEL, and an intro to OUTLOOK and POWERPOINT, 8 weeks. Prerequisite:   PC Beginners or placement test.  Registration $150

 

HTML 1 (6 lessons)

Wednesdays 6:00 to 8:00 PM June 4, 11, 18, 25, July 2, 9

HyperText Markup Language is a script used to construct web pages. HTML 1 teaches bare bones construction of a web page, how to change fonts, colors, and lists, and tables. Six lessons and assessment.  Prerequisite:  Typing, Windows, and Word 1 or placement test.  Registration $100

 

HTML 2 (8 lessons)

Mondays 6:30 to 8:00 PM June 2, 9, 16, 23, 30, July 7, 14, 21

HTML 2 project teaches table making to control placement of web page content; Forms,  and cascading style sheets (CSS).Prerequisites:  HTML 1 or qualifying exam on first night of class. Registration $100

 

PC Beginners AM (6 lessons)

Mon & Wed 10:30 – noon June 2, 4,9, 11,16, 18

Learn typing and Mouse basics, Manage files and folders, format text, E-mail and search the internet.  Registration $50

 

PC Beginners PM (6 lessons)

Mon & Wed 6:00 to 7:30 PM June 2, 4,9, 11,16, 18

PC Beginners Saturdays (6 lessons)

Saturdays 12:30 -2:00 PM June 7, 14, 21, 28 (skip July 5) July 12, 19

For very beginners, teaches Microsoft Windows PC operating system. Learn the parts of the computer, mouse basics, creating and managing files and folders, using a typing tutorial, edit text, save files, understand memory and storage, Internet search, and electronic mailing.  Registration $50
