A Day in the Life: OCTO

IT Academy Students Welcomed on Site Visit to OCTO

Some Byte Back IT Academy graduates have gone on to work as help desk specialists at the DC Office of the Chief Technology Officer (OCTO). Through OCTO, they are placed at many different DC entities, including DC Public Schools and DC Public Library.

Recently, IT Academy and First Time Technology Director Monique Riviere and Instructor Yasheeca Green accompanied five Byte Back students on a tour of OCTO. Four PC Hardware students – Behrooz Bakhtialy, John Carpenter, Lisa Redmond, and Lark-Catoe Emerson – and A+ graduate Franklin Ngongang toured OCTO and learned about career paths what a day on the job is like.

Thanks to OCTO Program Manager John Capozzi for coordinating the visit and speakers, and thanks to everyone at OCTO for your continued partnership with Byte Back!
