Who’s Eligible

Students should meet these requirements:

Be 18+ years old

Be a resident in one of Byte Back’s service areas - Washington, DC area or Baltimore

Have a genuine desire to learn new technical skills and advance your career

Have a high school diploma, GED, or equivalent

Course One

Microsoft Office Specialist, Word

Timing

This is a 6-week (80 hour) course, usually taught in 3-hour classes, 5 days a week

Class Description

Manage office tasks like a boss. Our Microsoft Office Specialist, Word course is a deep dive into everything Word can do in a work environment. You’ll learn to create, manage, and format documents. After this class, you’ll be prepared to pass the Microsoft Office Specialist, Word certification exam.

What You Can Expect

In this class, you’ll learn:

How to create and format a document

Format text and paragraphs

Create and modify tables

Format graphic elements in a document

All the skills necessary to earn your MOS Word certification and use it in your new career

Course One

Microsoft Office Specialist, Excel

Timing

This is a 7-week (105 hour) course, usually taught in 3-hour classes, 5 days a week

Get ready to use Excel on the job. Our Microsoft Office Specialist, Excel course helps students master one of the most commonly used professional programs. Throughout the class, students will observe, learn, and practice key Excel skills in preparation to pass the Microsoft Office Specialist, Excel exam.

Spreadsheet creation and manipulation

Workbook creation and manipulation
