Professional Tracks

Professional Track courses are for individuals who have mastered the essentials of computer use and are ready to earn industry-recognized certifications, get personalized job coaching, and enter a career using technology.

In the Byte Back Professional Tracks, you will:

  • Gain practical skills that you can use in an entry-level tech career
  • Earn multiple industry-recognized certifications
  • Receive personalized, in-person training from instructors dedicated to your success
  • Get access to tutoring and mentorship opportunities
  • Work with Career Services staff and volunteers from the tech industry to learn soft skills

Who should apply to enroll in a Professional Track?

  • Students who passed Computer Foundations 1 and 2 OR can pass an assessment, complete an Occupational Research Assignment, and successfully interview with staff
  • DC metro area residents who are authorized to work in the US
  • Adults who hold a high school diploma or GED
  • Priority enrollment for low-income applicants or food stamp recipients
  • Those dedicated to looking for employment
  • Students who will put in time and effort to get certified and start a new career

 



Administrative Professional Track

The Administrative Professional Track is designed to help you gain the skills and resume experience needed for a wide range of computer-centered office careers – office manager, executive assistant, receptionist, financial clerk, and others, many of which don’t even require a college degree.

IT Professional Track

Students who enroll in the IT Professional Track are passionate about technology and helping people use it. In these courses, you will learn the essential skills for an IT career, from troubleshooting to installing and configuring software to maintaining a network. The certifications you’ll earn are the industry-recognized standard for entry-level IT positions like Computer Use Support Specialist and IT Help Desk.
