Byte Back is proud to be an AmeriCorps host and so thankful for our hard-working AmeriCorps instructors. We are dedicated to building a positive, team-oriented environment and to providing a rewarding and productive experience for our AmeriCorps!
What is AmeriCorps?
AmeriCorps is a national service organization that places thousands of young adults into intensive service positions where they learn valuable work skills, earn money for education, and develop an appreciation for citizenship.
What do AmeriCorps members do at Byte Back?
As an AmeriCorps instructor at Byte Back, you will serve as the backbone of our teaching staff and a core part of our community. Our AmeriCorps instructors teach computer literacy classes to adults about 14 hours per week. They spend additional time lesson planning, tutoring, helping students with resumes and cover letters, and assisting in training volunteer instructors.
What is being an instructor at Byte Back like?
Each AmeriCorps instructor is responsible for teaching their students the technical and practical use of computers in our PC for Beginners and Office Track courses. The instructor instills in each student a familiarity and comfort with technology. Many Byte Back students have been discouraged by the education system. Our instructors ease their fears and encourage them to try new forms of technology on their own.
