March 9 to 13, we’re celebrating AmeriCorps Week, along with AmeriCorps hosts nationwide.  

Here’s a little bit about our fantastic AmeriCorps volunteers:

• 9: AmeriCorps members currently volunteering full time at Byte Back.

• 2: Number of those members who are D.C. natives.

• 900,000: Number of individuals who have served as AmeriCorps members nationwide since 1994.

• 6: Number of languages the Byte Back AmeriCorps speak.

• 25: Number of classes Byte Back AmeriCorps instructors have taught in all 4 quadrants of D.C.

• 10: Number of D.C. public libraries hosting classes taught by AmeriCorps instructors.

• 25,000: Number of sites that AmeriCorps members serve at each year.

• 2,500: Number of hours Byte Back AmeriCorps have logged so far this year.

• 4 Million: Number of community volunteers managed or mobilized by AmeriCorps members in 2014.

• 20,809: Number of hours AmeriCorps and other volunteers spent with Byte Back in 2014. 

• 2 Billion: Total number of hours served by AmeriCorps members nationwide.

• $625 million: Amount of resources from private, philanthropic, and other sources leveraged by AmeriCorps programs each year.

• $2.8 Billion: Total amount of Segal AmeriCorps Education Awards earned by AmeriCorps members.
