Our Growth Strategy
Byte Back
Strategic Growth to Serve More Communities
In 2018, Byte Back completed a visionary strategic growth planning process, laying out its vision for national expansion by 2025. With support from Root Cause, a purpose-driven consulting group, Byte Back is pursuing growth across the country.
Byte Back Expansion to Date
2017
Byte Back expanded its course offerings outside of DC for the first time into Prince George’s County, Maryland.
2018
Byte Back was selected as one of 10 winners of the TD Ready Challenge, an investment that launched the organization’s second site – Byte Back Baltimore.
2019
Byte Back hired its first ever full-time Site Director, Chrissie Powell. By the end of the year, Byte Back Baltimore served 51 adult learners.
Looking to the Future
Byte Back is one of the only organizations in the country that provides adult learners with free beginner-to-expert technical training. By scaling to more communities, Byte Back can have a bigger impact, helping more individuals move into living-wage careers and thrive.
Build Capacity at DC Headquarters
Byte Back is continuously improving its operations and core program model at the DC headquarters to learn and implement best practices in Baltimore and beyond.
Open 3rd Site in 2020
Byte Back plans on piloting its first course in the mid–west in Youngstown, Ohio in fall 2020. This will be the kick-off for its third site, after DC and Baltimore.
Scale through Branch Model
Byte Back will scale through a “branch” model – opening locally-led Byte Back sites across the country that will be supported by DC headquarters staff and resources.
Grow through Partnerships
Byte Back centers collaboration in its expansion model and plans. We will partner with local nonprofits, funders, government agencies, and employers in each new location.
